How do I download Snipet?

Yes! Snipet is completely free to use with no hidden costs, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. We believe everyone should have access to quality news regardless of their financial situation.

What devices are supported?

Snipet supports iOS 12.0+ and Android 6.0+. The app is optimized for both phones and tablets, providing a seamless experience across all screen sizes.

How do I set my language and country preferences?

After creating your account, go to Settings → Profile to set your preferred language and country. This helps us personalize your news feed with relevant content from your region in your preferred language.

AI Features

How does AI summarization work?

Our AI reads and analyzes full articles from multiple sources, extracting the most important information and presenting it in a concise, easy-to-understand format. This saves you time while ensuring you get all the key facts.

How accurate are the translations?

Our AI-powered translation system maintains context and meaning while translating news articles. While highly accurate, we recommend checking the original article for critical information. Translation quality continues to improve with regular updates.

Can I read the full original articles?

Absolutely! While we provide AI summaries for quick reading, you can always access the full original article by tapping "Read Full Article" at the bottom of any news card.

How does personalization learn my preferences?

Our AI analyzes your reading patterns, the articles you bookmark, share, and spend time reading. Over time, it learns your interests and shows more relevant content while respecting your privacy.

Using the App

How often is content updated?

Snipet updates content every 30 minutes in the background, ensuring you always have access to the latest news. You can also pull-to-refresh manually for instant updates.

Can I use Snipet offline?

Yes! Articles are cached locally on your device, allowing you to read previously loaded content even without an internet connection. Bookmarked articles are always available offline.

How do I bookmark articles?

Tap the bookmark icon on any article card to save it for later. You can access all your bookmarked articles from the Bookmarks tab in the main navigation.

How do I share articles with friends?

Tap the share icon on any article to share it. You can share a screenshot of the article card along with links to read the full article and download the Snipet app.

What news categories are available?

Snipet offers six main categories: General, Business, Technology, Sports, Entertainment, and World News. Each category is tailored to your language and country preferences.

Account & Privacy

Do I need to create an account?

You can use Snipet without an account to read news, but creating an account unlocks personalization, bookmarks, cross-device sync, and country-specific content.

What data does Snipet collect?

We collect minimal data necessary for personalization: reading preferences, device information, and location (country-level only). We never sell your data and use it solely to improve your news experience. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will permanently remove all your data from our servers. You can also contact contact@snipet.app for assistance.

Can I change my preferences later?

Yes! You can change your language, country, and other preferences anytime in Settings. Changes take effect immediately and will be reflected in your personalized news feed.

Beta Testing

How do I join the beta program?

Fill out our beta application form with your details and preferences. We select testers based on device compatibility, demographics, and testing experience. Applications are reviewed regularly.

What's expected of beta testers?

Beta testers should use the app regularly, report bugs, provide feature feedback, and participate in surveys. We expect about 30 minutes of engagement per week during the testing period.

How long does beta testing last?

Beta testing periods typically last 2-4 weeks, depending on the features being tested. You'll be notified of the exact duration when selected for a specific beta round.

Will my beta feedback be credited?

Yes! Valuable contributors will be acknowledged in our app credits and may receive exclusive Snipet merchandise. We believe in recognizing our community's contributions.

Technical Support

The app isn't loading properly

Try these steps: 1) Check your internet connection, 2) Force close and restart the app, 3) Restart your device, 4) Update to the latest app version. If issues persist, contact contact@snipet.app.

I'm not receiving notifications

Check that notifications are enabled in your device settings for Snipet. In the app, go to Settings → Notifications to customize your notification preferences.

How do I report a bug?

Email contact@snipet.app with a description of the issue, your device model, app version, and steps to reproduce the problem. Screenshots are helpful too!
